What to do in Avignon?

Near the Limas, you will have the pleasure of walking through the historic district of Avignon. The Pont Saint-Bénézet, the Palais des Papes and the Petit Palais, with its magnificent collection of primitive Italian paintings, are a stone's throw from our luxury guesthouse in Avignon. Admire all the splendor of Provence, while strolling in the gardens of the Doms. You can have a coffee or a meal on the terrace in Place Grillon. All year round, enjoy performances by the Avignon Opera on Place de l'Horloge. The city's unmissable event is the Festival d'Avignon, founded in 1947. Nature

Our charming guest house in Avignon is ideally positioned to shine throughout Provence and enjoy the bucolic landscapes of the region. You will stay a few kilometers from the most beautiful Regional Natural Parks such as the Alpilles and the Luberon. Mont Ventoux, the one nicknamed the “Giant of Provence”, will offer you superb hikes and views over the whole of Provence. The lavender fields are remarkable on the Valensole plateau. Check it out during the lavender bloom, from mid-June to the end of August.

The city of Orange is full of remains from Roman times. The buildings steeped in history will surprise you and brighten up your stroll through the alleys of the city center. Don't miss the Arc de Triomphe, Notre-Dame-de-Nazareth Cathedral and the Ancient Theater. From the Saint-Eutrope hill, you will get a superb view of the city.

Gard's Bridge

Let yourself be tempted by a stroll in the Provençal scrubland to meet a unique structure, the Pont-du-Gard. This ancient Roman aqueduct has retained all its splendor and authenticity, it is one of the best preserved Roman remains in the world. It spans the Gardon river, where you can practice relaxation and water sports.

Uzès

The first duchy of France is a must for anyone wishing to discover Provence in all its splendor. Architecture lovers will be under the spell of its old town with the ducal castle and the Romanesque tower Fenestrelle. Take a walk on the Place de l'Herbe, you will appreciate the market, the conviviality of the restaurants and the beautiful arcaded houses.

The Baux de Provence

Perched on its rocky outcrop, the city of Baux-de-Provence is a must-see in the south of France. Less than an hour's drive from our luxury guest house in Avignon is the village of Gordes, located on the hillside. The cobbled streets of the city center are full of secrets and exceptional places: the castle, the church, the calades, the cellars of the Saint-Firmin Palace and the Saint-Jacques Chaplaincy. Chateauneuf Pope

The city of Châteauneuf-du-Pape is located less than 20 km from our charming guest rooms in Avignon center. This city is known around the world for its production of exceptional wines. The date to remember: the Fête de la Veraison, the first weekend in August, a unique opportunity to discuss with the winegrowers and discover the local products.

Aix en Provence

Aix-en-Provence, also called the “city of a thousand fountains” is a must in the south of France. Walk the alleys of its city center to discover the Cours Mirabeau, the town hall square, the calissons shops, the Jourdan park and the Rotonde fountain, all accompanied by the song of the cicadas.
